Some are sentimental and some are downright sexy. All of your companions from all three games (except for anyone who died) make appearances at your swanky apartment or on the surrounding Silversun Strip. And itвЂ™s not just a вЂњYouвЂ™re awesome/Thanks for sticking with me/I hope I see you again if I donвЂ™t dieвЂќ sort of goodbye. The majority of the Citadel DLC is spent really saying goodbye to your loyal companions. And as she says, вЂњYou canвЂ™t clone everything.вЂќ Shepard is who she is because of the friends sheвЂ™s made along the way, friends who would do anything for her. This seemingly simple scene sums up everything about what makes Shepard, Shepard. Just then, ShepardвЂ™s companions come running and pull her to safety, while the cloneвЂ™s companion moves into the shadows. What makes you so damn special? Why you and not me?вЂќ Of course, Shepard and the gang wonвЂ™t let this happen.В Gunplay and running around ensues.ДЄfter chasing the clone onto the Normandy, Shepard and the clone are both hanging from the shuttle bay door and the clone yells: вЂњLook at you. The clone tries to pull off this master plan of stealing the real ShepardвЂ™s identity and ending вЂњthe Cult of Shepard.вЂќ Shepard, in my case Fem Shep, is confronted with a clone of herself made by Cerberus. But what it lacks in time, it makes up for in message. The actual adventure part of it, starting with being assaulted in a sushi bar (which apparently is the BEST EVER because all of the character talk about it), is very short lived. Totted as one last adventure with the gang, it was more of an emotional adventure than anything else. The Extended Ending that BioWare released later was an improvement, but it still didnвЂ™t do justice to Shepard or the companions. My choices did not matter, my friendships did not matter in the end. So when Shepard and his/her companions said their final, brief goodbyes on the war torn streets of Earth before going off to make the ultimate sacrifice in the original ending for Mass Effect 3, I was very disappointed. You could play the most Renegade Shepard ever, and you know you still care about your companions. And when you have characters like loyal Garrus, determined Wrex, optimistic Liara and the rest of the crew, itвЂ™s hard NOT to get attached to them. IвЂ™m a pretty emotional person, and I tend to get attached to people and things very easily. Even choices you made in the first game can come back to you in the third, and I wanted to see every possible dialogue, every possible cut scene, every possible outcome.ДЄnd in the course of my near obsession with the games, IвЂ™ve also developed a near obsession with the characters.
